Spring, Summer, and Fall Activities

Nature Trails -- Interpretive Trail/Plant Inventory. Enjoy a leisurely walk through our 3/4 mile interpretive trail located behind The Lodge. Be sure to get a copy of our plant inventories from the Front Desk before heading out. We also have plant identification books for your use if you would to contribute to our ongoing plant inventory (we will list your name, date and plant in future copies of the trail inventory. For more information, please inquire at the Front Desk).

Wildlife Viewing -- Many species can be seen throughout the resort's "wildlife preserve." Grab your camera and binoculars and ask our Front Desk for a trail map.

Trout Ponds -- Enjoy the two trout ponds at Drummond Island Resort. Our smaller pond, located behind The Lodge and bowling center, has rainbow trout and blue gill. Canoes, rental fishing poles and a picnic area are available for a wonderful outing.

Watercraft Rental

All non-motorized watercraft are FREE to our guests!

Waverunners--We have 3 Polaris waverunners available for rent. What better way to have fun on the water with the whole family, with seating up to 3 people. Contact the front desk for rental information.

Kayaking/Introduction to Kayaking -- Explore the bay! There is no better way to explore the shoreline, or Potagannissing Bay than with a kayak. Drummond Island Resort has kayaks available for rent at the Marina. Tours and instruction are available for individuals (minimum of 2 people) by appointment. Sailing -- Another popular way to explore the bay and surrounding islands. Experience required for all rentals. Contact the Front Desk for more information. FREE TO GUESTS

Pontoon/Fishing Boat Rentals -- Spend the day exploring the surrounding islands of Potagannissing Bay on a pontoon, or take out a fishing boat and enjoy a traditional day fishing the bay for perch, small mouth bass, northern pike, walleye and more. Contact the Front Desk for rental information.

Canoeing -- Canoes are available at The Resort's Marina. We also have a couple of canoes on Lake Mel that are available to our guests. FREE TO GUESTS!

Offsite Activities

Charter Boat Fishing -- Local chapters are available for those in pursuit of deeper water. Salmon, lake trout and steelhead are found in good numbers each autumn. Contact the Front Desk for more information.

Charter Cruises -- Enjoy the surrounding waters of Potagannissing Bay, a beautiful sunset from the water, navigate the St. Mary's River, or take an international trip over to St. Joseph Island, Ontario, Canada, in style! Half-day and full-day cruises available on the "Island Queen." Contact the Front Desk for more information.

The Outdoor Enthusiast

Bicycling -- Explore the miles of winding roads and trails on the island. Bike rentals available through Drummond Island Resort and Conference Center. Contact the Front Desk for riding/rental information. FREE TO GUESTS.

Sporting Clays -- One of the fastest growing outdoor sports forhunters and non-hunters alike. "The Cedars" Sporting Clays Course at Drummond Island Resort and Conference Center is a professionally designed, recreational sporting clays course that was built to simulate the countless types and angles of shots an avid upland bird hunter or water fowler may encounter while spending a day a field. You'll enjoy a relaxing and memorable round of 50 or 100 sporting clay targets, shot at 10 different stations as you tour down a winding pathway that safely escorts you from shooting station to shooting station among The Resort's beautiful cedar and birch-maple woodlands.
